Type of edition: Trade

ISBN 0-595-21052-X

Kelly Sanders has purchased what she believes will be a profitable business, a boarding house and B&B. Her initial interest in the old Civil War era house stems from a strong resemblance to the previous owner, now deceased, Amelia Holt. There are stories and rumors about Amelia and her husband, George, but Kelly chooses to ignore them.

She hires a strong-willed cook/housekeeper and a dark and quiet handyman, then fills the house with boarders.

When murder strikes one of her boarders, and she begins receiving threatening notes, she has to determine who the killer is or lose her own life.

Is one of the boarders behind all of this or is there someone else on the property?

She discovers a secret passage in the old house which adds to the suspense, and small items begin to disappear from the rooms. Kelly has to find what the connections are between the various events.

With the help of friends and one very special boarder, Kelly discovers the Secrets of Holt House.

This novel is an easy to read, entertaining mystery with a touch of humor and a bit of romance.
