The problem with books on writing is that they are often difficult to read. Does that sound right? Good writing should be easy to read. If we are trying to teach easy-reading writing, shouldn't our books on writing be easy reading? Or at least interesting reading? Leaf through this book. That's the challenge. If you are having trouble reading it, hey, toss it aside. It probably means I don't know what I'm talking about.

Jim Dandy only went on the cooking Elderhostel to meet Dodee Swisher again. The art of cuisine would be a fun bonus. Then two chefs croaked from things they prepared. That took some of the fun out of eating. Oh yeah. Then things got sticky when a classmate ended up under a truck. Oh yeah. And was he happy when Dodee got him wrapped up in solving the murder. Ooooooh yeah.

No. The last thing was to be read his rights for killing the man. Nor did it help when his new romance, widow Dodee Swisher, wanted them to track down the killer themselves. Then again, maybe it did.
